Good to know.

Short answers about the summit, registration and taking part. Cannot find yours? Ask us in the chat or send a message below.

When and where is the summit?

From Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 November 2026, in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Sessions take place across three venues: Saad Abdullah, the Youth Hub and Shanidar Park.

What is World Youth Summit-Kurdistan 2026?

A three-day gathering where young people from across the globe meet government decision makers and world leaders to work on the challenges facing their generation, under the theme Shaping the Future. Its short name is WYS-K26.

Who convenes it?

Kurdistan Foundation, a non-profit organisation in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that empowers young people, advances education and promotes sustainability. Its work rests on three pillars: Belong, Build and Become.

What are the five tracks?

Future of Work and Economic Opportunity, Education and Skills for the Future, Digital Transformation and AI, Climate and Sustainable Development, and Regional Cooperation and Global Engagement. Each is aligned to a UN Sustainable Development Goal.

Who can register?

Registration is open to everyone. Apply as a youth delegate, as a guest, or on behalf of an organisation. In the same form you choose the tracks that interest you and the sessions you would like to attend. The summit team reviews every application.

How do session choices work?

Every public session needs approval from the summit team. Choose your sessions in the registration form. Once you are accepted, you can ask for more sessions from the programme or the portal. Each request shows its status in the portal: awaiting approval, approved or not approved.

Can I choose two sessions at the same time?

No. Several sessions run at the same time in different venues, so you can choose or request only one session for each time slot. Withdraw a request in the portal if you would like to change it.

How will you contact me?

When your application is accepted we send your confirmation and badge number by email and WhatsApp. The registration form asks for both, and you agree to this when you register.

What is my badge number?

Every accepted participant receives a unique five-digit badge number. It is printed on your badge and you use it to sign in to the portal.

Can I message the summit team?

Yes. Once you are accepted, open Messages in the participant portal. The summit assistant answers common questions straight away, and the summit team replies to your messages there.

What about invite-only sessions?

Some sessions, such as the official dinner and the Garden Dialogue, are invite only and cannot be requested. The organisers assign them to guests before the summit, and they appear in the portal as reserved for you.

How can I volunteer?

Download the Volunteer.KRD app, create your volunteer profile, then find World Youth Summit-Kurdistan 2026 in the app and sign up.

How can my organisation take part?

Choose Become a Partner on the Partners page and send the partnership form. Options include sponsorship, programme or knowledge partnership, in-kind support and media partnership.

I am a journalist. Who do I contact?

Use the media enquiry form on the Media & Press page. Press kits with logos, photos and the fact sheet are on the same page.

Will sessions be streamed?

Selected main stage sessions, including the fireside chat and the Youth Declaration, are streamed live.
